        LDDM Mission Statement

Les Doucet du Monde (LDDM) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring together individuals and families who are descendants of the Doucet families of North America, especially those of Germain Doucet, Sieur dit LaVerdure, and Pierre Doucet of Alabama, to perpetuate an appreciation for our family heritage. To accomplish this mission, we encourage individuals to (1) become active members of LDDM, (2) share their genealogical research to assist others in finding their ancestors, (3) participate in LDDM sponsored activities (such as family reunions, etc.) and (4) share stories about members of the family so that each generation may have a greater appreciation for those who have walked before us.

In using the spelling DOUCET we include all those who are descendants of a Doucet family, but have a variation in the spelling of the name, such as Doucette, Doucett, Dousett, Dowsett, etc.

Although our primary focus is on the Doucet family of Acadian descent, we encourage anyone who is a Doucet or descendant of a Doucet to join with us. The family is the core element of society. We therefore cherish our family as an essential participant in the society of the world.
